Winter Maintenance

Everyday we go out and water the plants. The plants are starting to die because it is the beginning of the winter season. We are going to prune them back so they can grow back in the summer. Our next step is to transfer the strawberry plants from the hydroponic house to the herb garden. - Ethan.

Steps:For Selling living herbs

1. Get pots and fill it 3/4 of the way with potting mix.
2. pop a few seeds in and fill to top
3. water just about ever day until 15-20 cm
4. sell in fielding farmer market or other places

Steps:For lavender smells

1. Cut lavender enough for about 10cm of stork.
2. hang upside down for 1-2 mouths.
3. then cut them at the bottom of the lavender and tie in a bag.
4. Sell them.

Working Bee!

23.11.09
On the 19th of November our school held a working bee as there was a lot of work to be done.
As soon as lunch started we were already working. Our group goal was to get the herb garden organized for the herbs.We dug around the strawberry bed to get the exact sized hole. We placed the planter in the hole. Wendy, Ethan and mum drove up to Jo's to get some calf poo to use as compost.
When they got back we piled the dirt we already had into the wooden herb garden surround, sprinkled it with fertilizer and dumped the calf poo on top. We decided to leave it for 2 days to sink in.
Ethan and I found a good place for our lemon tree and planted it.
We got our goal achieved today!!
